Werkschau Arbeiten 2019–2021

Since 2003 the independent illustrator Luca Schenardi has been developing a unique illustration style. His work has appeared in renowned international media such as the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, Die Zeit and NZZ Folio, to name but a few.

After years of experimenting with more seemingly photographic collages, he is currently focusing on digital drawings, which he is processing by means of analogue techniques involving laser printers and their diverse raster patterns that depend on printing size.

For the last few years he has been concentrating on designing record covers — commissioned work that gives him the delightful feeling of illustrating music; pushing forward in new worlds. Involved in international collaborations, he regularly designs the sleeves for the two NYC-based electro/ambient twin-labels Patience and Impatience.

This year’s exhibition at the Swiss Design Awards shows a selection of oversize prints of designs and illustrations which he produced during the period between 2019 and 2021.
